Get better pictures from your digital SLR with this Nikon USA: AF-S Micro-NIKKOR 60mm f/2.8G ED lens. With its two aspherical lens elements, lens aberrations are rare. And if you need to take a picture fast, the Silent Wave Motor produces high-speed and quiet autofocus operation. And its Nano Crystal Coat eliminates most internal reflections across a wide range of wavelengths for even greater image integrity.

Conclusion: Great lens Review: Makes a great portrait lens - would have been better if f/1.8 - but will have to make do - build quality is very good - sharp as a tack. Find I am using it as my prime lens.Great on D40 or D60.

Conclusion: Fantastic Macro Review: I would love to give this lens a 5 star rating for its performance but since it stopped working less than 3 months after I recieved it, I will have to rate it down one star. Otherwise this is my favorite macro for close up work (I am a wedding photographer and use this primarily for wedding ring shots). The focusing is fast and accurate and silent. The bokeh is quite pleasing. I feel that this lens 'searches' less than the 105 VR which was the other lens I was contemplating on buying. I feel that this is a far superior lens than the old and 105 and the best bang for your buck!

Conclusion: It's the one that I was looking for!! Review: There's nothing to say but perfect! It's my first Micro lens and really worth it. I compared the price with other websites and J&R was the cheapest. And yes, it's Nikon USA version. Shortest range taking picture is 0.185m(0.61ft) as you know. For close-up picture it's about 0.05m(0.165ft) closest that you could reach(I've tested). / Cons; After close-up shot, it takes time to AF in normal range.

Conclusion: Very nice upgrade Review: I upgraded from the old 60 mm macro lens. This is definitely a step up. It's a very sharp lens and focus is lightning fast comparatively.
The one thing I did notice, however, is that you can't shoot at f/2.8 throughout the entire range. Focusing at 18.5 cm, the closest the lens can go, the most open you can get it is f/4.8. Between 18.5 cm and infinity it gradually opens up, giving you f/2.8 focusing at about one meter.

Conclusion: ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Review: I was expecting a good jump in my macro work, but this thing is incredible. Also its a better option for doing product photography (such as watches) than the tamaron 90mm. The tamaron may be better for doing both macro and portrait, but this holds the same length at any focal range, so its much better for products photos. Not sure about the Nikon thats $800 though. That thing is probably just a great if not better!
You won't be dissapointed!
