Conclusion: Very Good Mouse Review: I like the forward/back buttons on this Logitech LX8. Some people say the forward/back buttons press too easily, which was true for me sometimes, but once I got used to the mouse I rarely hit them by accident. The benefits outweigh any risk in my opinion, although those forward/back buttons probably should have a little more resistance. I do like the forwrd/back buttons in that general area and on opposite sides like this LX8. I like the position of the forward/back buttons on this LX8 compared to the LX7(looks like they are on top by the scroller). I also own the Logitech MX310 corded. I think I prefer my older MX310 mouse but I'm not sure. The MX310 forwrd/back buttons are placed a little different and have more resistance, however the MX310 which worked good with my Win98se, was slow for my new Vista laptop so I got the LX8. I like being cord free and am happy with this LX8. I wish it had 2 AAA which might make it lighter(a little heavy compared to MX310) instead of 2 AA batteries, but at least it is not a rechargable, since I prefer batteries. You cannot use the mouse without the receiver even if you download the extra features. The receiver sticks out the side of my laptop 1 3/4 inches and works on either side(I don't have a USB in back). I wish it had a mini receiver like one of the logitech nano mice. The download took 7 hrs. with dial up. It only gave me two extra features: the ability to switch between windows by pressing the scroll button and the option to change mouse buttons of course. I can switch between windows by clicking on an icon with Vista Home Premium. The download was a waste of time for me. Obviously, you should download the extras and try it out, but most things work with no download. Unless Logitech comes out with a similiar battery mouse with a smaller mini receiver, I will stick with this mouse. Overall I am happy and I would buy it again tomorrow if I needed another mouse.

Conclusion: Great alternative for Mac users who dislike the design of the Apple mighty mouse as much as I do Review: I purchased a 24" iMac back in May of this year (2008), and like all new Mac owners, I had to endure the frustrating experience of using the hardwire Apple mightymouse, which is probably the most non-ergonomic mouse I've ever used in my life! I love most Apple products, I own the 3G iPhone, owned a 60GB iPod until it was stolen along with my CD player in my car (but that's a whole other story for a whole other time!), and will someday own a MacBook Pro, and I absolutely love the ultra-sleek and ergonomically designed hardwire Apple keyboard that came with the computer, but the mighty mouse is a no go with two thumbs down for me! In addition, after owning that mouse for about three months the tiny, difficult-to-use scroll wheel on the mighty mouse stopped working properly--I can only scroll up with it, not down. The discrete design of lacking a separator for both left and right clicking is another issue I had with that mouse. I need to be able to right click!
Anyhow, getting back to this Logitech LX8 laser mouse--it is a fantastic mouse with an ultra-ergonomic design. I like the fact that it is a "standard size" wireless mouse, as opposed to many of the other wireless mice I see for sale, which all appear to be primarily designed for notebook computers. I was about to purchase the V450 wireless notebook mouse before my roommate spotted this one at Best Buy. It is a little pricey ($45), but, well worth it, in my opinion. Being that it is a laser mouse, the standard track settings are very fast, so you are going to want to get into your settings/or control panel and modify this. The only other issue I have with this mouse, as one of the reviewers stated is the left and right click buttons on the rubber sides of the mouse--they can be a nuissance because they are so easy to accidently click and touch. I'm still working on trying to disable them on my iMac, but even if I can't I'm sure I'll get use to not accidently touching them in time. Other than that, this is a fantastic laser wireless mouse! I am very impressed with this mouse, to say the least, it is definitely a major upgrade from that terrible Apple mighty mouse!

Conclusion: Convenience Review: This cordless mouse is very "clean" and convenient. I mean it has none of those annoying wires etc. involved, and I can just plug the receiver into my laptop whenever I wish to use it with the mouse. This works well!

Conclusion: My LX8 Review: I've had the Logitech LX7 for 3 years. I admit that the LX7 is great for portable wireless gaming mouse. When it failed, I bought the LX8. I'll share my thoughts:
+ Wide (I have big hand)
+ Ambidextrous
+ A good transition from the LX7
+ Smaller and better built receiver than the LX7
- Annoying placement of the right, side button
(solved by disabling it using logitech driver)
- Not as agile as the LX7 on the mouse pad
Otherwise, its a great mouse for its price. No other complaints
:)

Conclusion: great mouse Review: This is a great mouse. I love the side to side wheel function and the forard/back side buttons. I would describe it as a medium size/weight product. The software download is approx 50 MB so if you are still using dial up it will take you forever to d/l it and you will be missing the CDROM. Otherwise it's a breeze with a high speed connection. I haven't noticed any problems with accidentally hitting the side buttons. They sit above where you, or at least where I, normally grib the mouse.
