Conclusion: After reading posts here, I got it to work

Review: I got this for my XV6800(Verizon HTC model) so that I can get output to my headphones and in my car for music/audio. When I plug it into the phone, there is no audio output, so you have to start playing something, then plug in the adapter to the phone, then plug the headphones to the adapter. Works pretty good

Review: this is the one to get, I use it to play music over the pa at work and charge my phone at the same time. Very good, well made, seems solid like it will actually last awhile.

Conclusion: Won't always work

Review: Brilliant design, but it wouldn't work with many 3.5mm jacks. It did work with some which is how I know that the unit works but I was disappointed because it looked so slick.

Conclusion: Convenient headphone adaptor

Review: The phone should really come with a headphone jack. That fact aside, this adaptor is a good way to have an analog stereo output, and a way to charge/link with a computer.

A good product.

Conclusion: the adapter wobbles alot.

Review: its very wobbly, and I feel like it could easily break, as happened to this person: http://www.amazon.com/review/R9ZQLA7GLY1TV/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm
I'm not saying I have a better solution, but just that it wobbles more than I'd like it to.

There's also a compatability problem with the newest mogul rom, as others have stated. There is a work-around though: simply start your music, plug in the adapter to the phone, and lastly plug in your headphones.
