I love this camera. I looked at many cameras online, comparing their features, and have not been disappointed so far. I didn't want to spend the money on an SLR, but the FujiFilm S5700 is a nice step towards an SLR. It has many easy to use features and settings.
It is lightweight, easy to hold, and the buttons are conveniently located. It also has a mode which allows the camera to take two consecutive shots - one with a flash, and one without, in case you are unsure. For low light conditions, it has a feature with which you can adjust your ISO, allowing you to take advantage of natural light.
It has a larger 2.5 inch screen, which is great for seeing your shots. It's great on batteries; doesn't wear them down too quickly, and I've gotten so many compliments on the pictures I've taken. I purchased the S5700 just before our vacation this year, and haven't been able to put it down since. I am especially pleased with it's macro abilities. Evaluation:

from baby shower to just everyday use. i can't put it down. I had been using a sony FD Mavica 1.2mgp but with the finepix S5700 7.1 i can see now what i've been missing.. from 6X to a 10X zoom. when i go out the door i grab two things now my car key and my finepix S5700 digital camera... Review: easy to use, beautiful pictures, light weight. I picked up the xd card to go with it. So far I've had no problems other than I wanted to take it on the vacation before I bought it but I'm glad I waited because it came out after the vacation. I love the zoom and the macro/super macro abilities. I'd never been able to catch a butterfly on film before but this is quick enough and has a wonderful zoom that I can stand 5 ft away and get a clear picture.
