Conclusion: You got to be kidding me ?
Review: Just got my K10D yesterday, and have yet to take a picture with it, due to my sdhc card being late, yet I can't see why this item is necessary. I won't charge the battery while connected to the camara, and for that much cash, it should. Really, unless your shooting a lot of pics in a studio, why would you need it ?
What I would like to see instead is a sony like product that charges multiple batteries, comes with both a ac and dc charger system for the car or boat... and charges the battery in camera.
So I think I'll pass on this one.

Conclusion: AC Adapter...absolutely necessary!
Review: In order to use the Pentax K10D digital SLR camera to download images into a computer it is recommended (by the instruction manual) that one use an AC adapter. The manual also indicates that the adapter is optional. If one does not use an AC adapter, and transfers a bunch of images, one will have to recharge the camera's battery often. I bought an extra battery but I still ended up having to get the Pentax AC Adapter Kit D-AC50 in order to transfer images and then go out and shoot more. This adapter does what it is supposed to do, and it was delivered quickly.
