Your Celestron SkyScout is a highly sensitive, fragile and costly piece of equipment and needs to be handled with care when you use it in the field. That's just what we kept in mind while making the ScoutCase which is designed to protect your SkyScout from dust, dirt, moisture and accidental drops.
Made of top grade polyurethane material that looks and feels like leather, the ScoutCase has an excellent finish. The foam padded interior provides a snug fit and added protection. The comfortable hand grip and adjustable strap also ensures you don't accidentally drop the ScoutCase.
The ScoutCase is designed to be left on the SkyScout at all times so you can make full use of the SkyScout. All the buttons and the LCD screen are totally protected by a transparent plastic cover, completely visible in the dark and always fully accessible. A headphone slot at the rear end of the ScoutCase lets you connect the audio jack with absolute ease. What's more, the ScoutCase does not interfere with or block the GPS signals on which the SkyScout operates in any way. In fact, you will find it much easier to handle the SkyScout within the ScoutCase than without it.

Review: This soft-sided case for the Celestron SkyScout works every bit as well as claimed. Perfect fit, no problem operating the buttons, no impact on the functionality/sensitivity of the SkyScout. I would buy this case again.

Review: Like another reviewer, I happened across this product in Amazon by accident. Also like another reviewer, it immediately struck me as a useful thing to have.
The case shipped very quickly and I have no complaints.
The quality of the construction is good and it makes gripping the SkyScout SO MUCH BETTER. I'm also a lot less nervous now when I hand it to other people to use.

Review: I'd concur with the prior reviewer. The case adds protection and ease of use while not detracting from functionality. The case is nylon and vinyl, and all stitching and straps are well done, IMHO. I was very pleased with the fast delivery and communication by the vendor. I too would not recommend going without this affordable accessory for the SkyScout.

Review: I've had my Celestron Sky Scout for about two months now and was enjoying it a lot. But every time I held the Sky Scout in my hand, I did so with a bit of trepidation, fearful that I might drop it, dirty it, or scratch it. My fears only compounded when I let my kids or neighbors hold my Sky Scout. The Sky Scout is not heavy, but it is a bit clumsy to grip, especially for small hands or for extended periods of time.
Last week, I chanced upon the Scoutcase on Amazon quite by accident, but was struck by its obvious usefulness. I immediately ordered one. 2 days later, it was in my mailbox (although this is probably because it was shipped from only about 40 miles from where I am).
This is such a simple yet useful idea! The case seems to be very well made of good materials. I initially thought that this case might be water proof, but it isn't and the description does not claim that it is. One common complaint of the Celestron Sky Scout is the lack of lens caps, but this case does not solve that problem. The soft padding and hand grip (which is like the grip found on many video camera cases) are totally awesome ideas and make the Sky Scout very comfortable to use. In fact, I find myself reading the object information on the LCD screen even more now since it is much easier for me to interrupt looking at the sky and flip my hand around to turn the screen towards me for brief moments. The buttons and LCD screen are nicely visible, and the case fits really snugly on the Sky scout.
I have used the case for two nights now, and can't imagine why anyone would want to buy the Sky Scout without getting one of these cases to go with it.
