The Maxxum AF 1.4x Tele Converter APO lens is designed for use exclusively for use with Maxxum AF 35mm SLR cameras and fixed-focal-length Maxxum APO telephoto lenses. When mounted between the camera and lense, the converter increases the lens' effective focal length by a factor of 1.4. This lens can be attached to the AF 200mm f/2.8 APO, AF 300mm f/2.8 APO and the AF 600mm f/4 APO lenses. This converter automatically connects the lens' AF couplar to the camera. Autofocusing and manual focusing are the same as when using the lens alone.
