This high zoom ratio lens is exclusively designed for digital SLR cameras and capable of covering a wide range of focal lengths from wide-angle to telephoto. Two Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass elements and two hybrid aspherical lenses offer the utmost correction for all types of aberrations, and enables this extended range super zoom lens to be housed in a compact and lightweight construction of 70mm (2.8") diameter, and 78.1mm (3.1") in length, and weighing just 405g/14.3oz. The new lens coating reduces flare and ghost, which is a common problem of digital cameras and also creates an optimum color balance. This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 45cm (17.7") at all focal lengths and has maximum magnification of 1:4.4.The lens design incorporates an inner focusing system, which prevents the front of the lens from rotating, making it particularly suitable for using circular polarizing filters and petal shaped lens hoods. The overall length of the lens does not change during focusing, ensuring convenient handling and ease of use. A zoom lock switch eliminates 'zoom creep' during transportation, a convenient addition when traveling.

Conclusion: love it! Review: I'm not an experienced photographer, but this lense (and my Nikon D40) make me feel like I am!! I love this lense. For the money, it's fabulous!! The only thing that drives me crazy, is that it is manually focused exactly opposite from my old (crummy) lense, but I'm adjusting.

Conclusion: Reeeaaally hard to beat for $170! Review: Did some comparisons to the Nikon 18-200 and, while this is missing some features (anti-shake, a little lower f rating at the zoom end, etc), it's really hard to beat for $170. Image comparisons show this lens, while not quite up to the Nikon, were excellent. It was on par or better than my Nikon 18-70. Focuses well and is relatively solid in build.

Conclusion: WOW for the price Review: I am not a techno guru. I just love photography. I found this lens a pure joy to use and the images are sharp and have excellent color. It has become my on-camera lens at all times. It is a bargain. Sure there are newer more technical sophisticated lenses and some with stabilization...but guess what? If you enjoy to work and have fun with your photography...at the end of the day...the images will be no different.

Conclusion: high marks with reasonable sacrifices Review: I have a couple of fine lenses in my collection. Aperture of this lens is slow. 3.5-6.3. Handheld this lens is useless in low light. Unless you have a tripod. I can live with all of that though. Ever since I evolved from an electronic viewfinder I have missed the wide to telephoto lens. This gives me back that creative edge of being able to shoot near and far without changing the lens. Other pros are that its dirt cheap and very compact. A reasonable upgrade would be HSM. I like the smell of sigma lenses anyhow. Like used Malaysian tires. I give this lens high marks because it lets me be creative with reasonable sacrifices.

Conclusion: somewhat dissapointed Review: in the advertisment it is shown that this lens will work perfectly with all kinds of nikon digital cameras but when i tried it with my d60 camera the auto focus did not work , so i gave it to a friend to sell it for me , after waiting for long time i was dissapointed .
