Conclusion: Good for slides: only so-so for negatives

Review: Slide scanning work very well, sharp and clear. Negatives, however were notquite as clear and clean when scanned, even at higher resolutions.

Conclusion: Great Machine, Great Price

Review: I bought this to scan a bit over a thousand negatives. There's a short learning curve. Once you figure out the "tweaks" to make the scans come out their best you will have great scans!

Its fairly quick on scans and I was done with my negatives in a bit over a week. I saved a ton of money with this machine.

Conclusion: Does not work with Mac OS

Review: Imagine my excitement when I finally find a film scanner (OpticFilm 7200) with such high reviews on the internet, after trying many solutions for digitizing a collection of 5,000+ slides... Only to find out this product cannot support Mac OS. Given the current upswing in market share of Mac products (MacBook and MacBook Pro hold position #7 and 8 on the Bestsellers in Computers & PC Hardware on Amazon as of this review), it is very unfortunate that Plustek has chosen to ignore such a sizable market of creative types whom would benefit from having access to their products...

Sad, sad indeed....

Review: This is a very easy to install, easy to use device that worked well for me. The quality of the scans is very good and most often I do not even use the highest quality setting. I transferred all of my family slides from the 60's and placed them on DVD. The software provided is decent. I prefer the "quick scan" feature when doing bulk transfer. You will have to make occassional adjustments to the autocrop if your slides have varying light conditions, but no sweat. I then discovered that this device is like a darkroom in a box - when I started transferring negatives. All in all a really good investment for me. Works well with my XP - x64 O/S.

Conclusion: Incredibly Bad Customer Service

Review: I purchased a Plustek OpticFilm 7200 from Amazon several months ago. It set up and worked fine for a week or so. Then the OpticFilm program indicated that the unit was not connected. It is properly connected and pressing buttons on the unit show reactions on the computer screen. But it will not work.

So, after a thorough reading of the manual, which does not help in this situation, I determined to call for help. Here's what I found:
"One of our representatives will be happy to assist you from Monday through Friday in office working hours as shown below:
Other Countries or Areas (including United States)
9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Taiwan Time"
Unbelievable that Amazon sells these products without ensuring that there is appropriate U.S. customer service in place.
