This zoom lens was exclusively* designed for use with digital Single-Lens Reflex (SLR) cameras and has 6.9 times high magnification zoom ratio. A Special Low Dispersion (SLD) and two pieces of aspherical glass elements produce high level of optical performance through the entire zoom range and alsothis has resulted in a compact, lightweight lens that features a length of 77.7mm (3"), maximum diameter of 70mm (2.7"), weight of 385gr (13.5oz) and filter size of just 62mm The new lens coating reduces flare and ghost, which is a common problem of digital cameras and also creates an optimum color balance This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 50cm (19.6") at all focal lengths and has maximum magnification of 1:5.3. It is equipped with inner focusing system, since the front of the lens does not rotate, "Petal-type hood" and a circular polarizing filter can be easily attached and used. This lens is also equipped with Zoom Lock Switch that eliminates "Zoom Creep" *35mm or APS SLR film cameras should not be used or image cut-off or vignetting will occur

Evaluation:
Conclusion: Kit Lens Killer Review: This lens is a quick step up or a replacement for the kit lens that accompanies new cameras. Not a great lens, since the barrel turns while focusing making it difficult to use a CPL or graduated ND filter. I would deffinetly reccomend this as a walk around or starter lens and the price can't be beat.

Conclusion: Nice travel/all purpose lens Review: Okay, this is a cheap, wide angle almost superzoom lens. That said, it covers a very usable range, produces sharp images, has a solid build, and is light and easy to use. It is a good choice for a travel lens for an APS-C sensor dSLR (not for full frame). The bokeh is a little odd, but I can live with it. The AF can be a bit slow in poorer lighting (but many more expensive lenses suffer from this as well). I've not regretted the purchase. Highly reccomend.
