Editorial Reviews:

Sunlight, daylight, incandescent, fluorescent, and other artificial light sources all have color characteristics that vary significantly. Filters give you better images by adjusting for these light variations. Film and video are rated for a particular color temperature such as that of daylight or tungsten light. Filters are used to correct differences in color temperatures between the recording medium and a light source. The 80A filter balances daylight film for use with most standard tungsten lighting, studio lighting and copy stand lighting.

Conclusion: Tiffen = Prophylactics for Lenses

Review: I have been using Tiffen products for some time now and I have never had a problem with any of them. I highly recommend this UV protection filter if you are planning on keeping your lens safe for years to come.

During a visit to Chicago, IL a few weeks ago I had forgotten to replace my lens cap on my Canon 24-70mm EF-S Lens after taking some shots while riding the water taxi. When I got off and was walking around Navy Pier, I nailed the front of my lens on something and it scratched the filter to hell and back. It is easier (physically and financially) to replace the filter than it is to replace the glass in a $1300 lens.

Conclusion: Does the job at a great price

Review: I got this UV filter to use with my Nikon D40. There isn't much to it to make it malfunction - it's a piece of glass mounted on a 52mm-threaded ring.

If I look at the filter from and angle, I can see a strange pattern of sorts on the glass, but this doesn't seem to affect my photos.

Thanks Amazon for the great price ($6.99) and fast shipping (placed order Sunday; order wasn't shipped until Friday, but arrived on Saturday).

Conclusion: great tool for landscapes!

Review: An excellent tool for enhancing the sky in your landscapes. By being graduated (and rotating) I can put the filter right where I need the effect.

Conclusion: Photo in high definition

Review: I am surprised with the result. The photos are with an excellent appearance. Excellent result. The light of the flash always leaves the object photographed clearly (cace with white spot). With the filters this does not happen. It seems to be a photo in high definition.
